Adult Education Classes coming soon to St. Jude’s!
Our church is in crisis. Due to the recent priest scandal, Catholics are finding it hard to reconcile themselves with their beloved Church. Why is this happening? What is being done about it? Is this the end of the Catholic Church?
You are Peter, and on this Rock I will build my church,
and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
From its inception the Church founded by Jesus has had its share of problems. Major renewals and reforms dot the landscape of our Church’s history. Sometimes the Holy Spirit just needs to do some housecleaning to get the Church back on track. Remember Martin Luther and The Reformation? The thing is, even though Jesus is our foundation, we the Church are fallible humans and we mess up.
Come join us beginning September 23 at 7 p.m. at St. Jude’s for The Reformations. This is a 12-week course presented by Dr. Christopher Belitto, Ph.D., in DVD and discussion format. Cost of the course is $10. Bring your friends and neighbors!
In this course we will learn about Church reforms before Luther, about challenges that have arisen regarding Church authority in society, about a time in Church history when there were three popes deciding who was the real one! Let us be encouraged by the workings of the Holy Spirit who leads the charge, carrying the battering ram against the gates of hell and the Evil One who is bent on destroying Christ’s Bride, his beloved Catholic Church.
